BEAUFORT, S.C. -- Authorities say a 28-year-old Beaufort school psychologist has been arrested after she had a sexual relationship with a high school student.
Megan Snipes is charged with sexual battery of a student.
Beaufort County deputies said the mother of the 16-year-old boy called them Thursday after finding on her phone inappropriate discussions between her son and Snipes. The student had been seeing the psychologist at Battery Creek High School.
Deputies say the student and Snipes confirmed they had sexual contact in October.
Snipes has been placed on administrative leave. She can only be fired by the school board after an internal investigation. It wasn't known if she has an attorney.
