A maroon Crown Victoria and Charleston city police car collided near the Meeting Street Bi-Lo Monday night, scattering debris in the street.
The Crown Victoria was sitting in the middle of Meeting Street at Columbus Street, with the front end smashed in. The police car was a couple hundred feet south on Meeting Street, with the right front side badly damaged and the right front wheel bent almost horizontal.
State police were on scene at 9:30 p.m. trying to piece together what happened.
