A North Charleston sub shop will celebrate its grand opening by serving up free sandwiches so North Charleston police can help children celebrate Christmas.
The Jersey Mike’s Subs at 5070 International Blvd. will give a free sub to promotional-card customers who donate at least a dollar to the police department’s Kids & Cops initiative.
The offer is valid through Sunday only at this location.
Elementary and middle-school guidance counselors choose children to participate in Kids & Cops. Officers will take the children out Dec. 14 to spend $150 at the Centre Pointe Walmart, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor.
School resource officer Drew Ivey came up with the program, Pryor said.
