Belk’s ongoing project to nearly double its size in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre will bear its first fruit tomorrow.
Belk Men’s Store will open at 9 a.m. Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1102 Market Center Blvd. across the parking lot from the main department store. The 30,000-square-foot building once served as an Earth Fare and briefly as a Guy Harvey restaurant.
Belk is investing $10.2 million to transform its Towne Centre location into a flagship store. By October 2014, the store will be 30,000 square feet larger and will carry more product lines. Towne Centre is also putting in a new parking deck to accommodate the added traffic the new Belk is expected to generate.
