General Dynamics said it Electric Boat division has received an $18.2 million contract modification from the Navy that includes maintenance and support services for training ships based in Charleston.
The vessel are moored, the company said in statement Tuesday.
The work also includes services for nuclear submarines in Groton, Conn.
The original contract was awarded in November 2011. It includes extension options.
Locally, General Dynamics also owns the former Force Protection armored vehicle manufacturing business on U.S. Highway 78 in North Charleston.
