Mary Lee, the great white shark made famous when she was tagged by a group of scientists, is still crusing the South Carolina coastline.

The 3,500-pound, 16-foot-long shark pinged near Edisto Island within the last 24 hours, according to the shark tracker run by, the non-profit that tagged the shark and many others as part of shark research. She’s been near the coast much of the last week. She pinged near Murrells Inlet about a week ago and again near Edisto Beach on Nov. 2.

She’s now moving back toward the South Carolina coast, according to OCEARCH’s Facebook page.
