A Charleston-based provider of environmental laboratory equipment and supplies has acquired an Upstate supplier of scientific testing containers.
Environmental Express Inc. announced today that it has acquired Daniels Scientific of Greenville.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Daniels Scientific is a 10-year-old supplier of collection containers that environmental scientists and technicians use to store test samples. Its product line includes glass and plastic vials, bottles and related accessories.
“The acquisition of Daniels Scientific will allow us to strengthen our strategic vision of being a market leader in environmental testing,” said Al Jurgela, president and CEO of Environmental Express. “We’re looking forward to a collaborative relationship in which we can better support our customers, through operational efficiencies and a product line expansion.”
Based off Clements Ferry Road, Environmental Express was founded in 1988. It’s now owned by Pittsburgh-based private equity firm PNC Riverarch Capital, which invested $35.51 million in the business in May 2011.
