Quarterbacks Tajh Boyd of Clemson and Connor Shaw of South Carolina have been extended invitations to participate in the Medal of Honor all-star football game set for The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium in January.

The inaugural Medal of Honor Bowl is slated for 3 p.m. on Jan. 11.
Boyd and Shaw were among 25 college players extended invitations Friday by Brian Woods, executive director of the Medal of Honor Bowl. NFL scouts and coaches are expected to attend a week of practice before the game to compile reports on prospective draft picks.
Other players to receive invitations were Clemson lineman Brandon Thomas; receiver Corey Washington of Newberry, a graduate of North Charleston High School; Furman lineman Dakota Dozier; Coastal Carolina receiver Matt Hazel; Georgia Southern running back Jerick McKinnon; and Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch.
