Investigators are looking for two men authorities said broke into two homes looking for money and drugs in the North Charleston area early Monday morning.
The break-ins occurred around 3 a.m. at Ward Avenue and Midland Park Road, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s office.
Two armed men ambushed a couple who were returning home on Ward Avenue from work, according to an incident report.
The men had been hiding in the bushes in front of the house and pointed guns at the husband and wife demanding money, the report stated.
One man shoved the husband to the ground and later punched him in the face, the report stated. The wife ran into the house and locked the door, according to the report.
One of the armed men kicked the door open and chased her into the house, investigators said. That man also pointed the gun at the woman’s son, according to the report. When he asked for the money and “Where’s the dope?” the woman told him if he left her family alone she would take him to the money, the report stated.
The man then dragged the woman to a home on Midland Park Road and forced his way inside the house, according to investigators.
The men stole several items from the home and took off, the report stated. Both men had their faces covered so they could only be described as two black males wearing all black.
