That loud thud you heard was Phil Bowman falling back to earth.
The Post and Courier pundit went 6-0 in Week 6, but couldn’t even spell perfection last week as he slumped to 4-2.
Speaking of slumps, ABC News 4 guru Dean Stephens also went 4-2.
No, Stephens didn’t copy off Bowman’s homework. Stephens picked Wando to lose (wrong) and St. John’s to lose (wrong).
Bowman’s miscues? He picked Summerville to lose. And, he picked St. John’s to lose.
It marked the second straight week he picked McKissick’s machine to lose. That means no Christmas card from John and Joan.
Here are this week’s picks:
Wando at Stratford
Stephens: The tribe is unhappy with my picks. They stay unhappy. Stratford, 31-10.
Bowman: Stratford can’t take Warriors lightly. Stratford, 20-13.
Goose Creek at Cane Bay
Stephens: Good news is Cane Bay is at home. The Creek wins big, 45-7
Bowman: Gators are on a mission. Goose Creek continues to roll, 35-7.
Conway at West Ashley
Stephens: The Wildcats claw their way to a win, 24-21.
Bowman: Time for West Ashley to end slump. West Ashley, 21-10.

Bowman: I’ve picked against Summerville the last two weeks. Summerville, 23-14.
Fort Dorchester at Colleton County
Stephens: Tough loss last week. The Fort rallies, 28-17.
Bowman: Upset special: Colleton County 28-24.

Bowman: If you haven’t heard, Bowman doesn’t pick against Hawks. Hanahan, 35-13.
