ORANGEBURG — No injuries have been reported after a Bamberg District One school bus caught on fire.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports that the bus began burning at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
District Superintendent Phyllis Schwarting says the driver and students were able to get off the bus safely.
Officials say the fire seems to have started in the engine compartment and spread quickly. Schwarting says the bus’ engine had been checked out Thursday morning in Orangeburg.
