Martha Jo Hagan McGlothlin, an assistant principal with Howe Hall Elementary School and Goose Creek Primary School and a former Moncks Corner Town Council member, died Thursday. She was 75.
Born June 23, 1938, in Butts Hollow, Va., she was the daughter of Charles Leon Hogan and Margaret Watson Beard Hogan.
McGlothlin worked in education for more than 45 years, both as a teacher and an administrator.
She was first elected to the Moncks Corner Town Council in 1991 and served three terms.
She also served on the South Carolina Children’s Foster Care Review Board for several years.
She is survived by two sons, David and Brian, four grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. McGlothlin Jr.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens.
