A St. George mother and a neighbor have been arrested after an investigation into an infant’s injuries last month.
Patricia L. Minus, 29, and Michael William Hunt, 27, who live near each other on Cherry Lane, are charged with unlawful neglect of a child.
Minus’ 15-month-old daughter fell out of bed the night of Sept. 20 and fractured her skull, according to arrest affidavits from the Dorchester County Sheriff’’s Office.
The infant had not awakened when her mother went to work the next day at 1 p.m. The mother should have noticed that something was wrong, according the affidavit.
Minus left her daughter in the care of Hunt. He waited several hours before calling EMS when the infant still had not awakened. He also should have noticed that something was wrong, investigators said.
Minus and Hunt were arrested Monday. They were released Tuesday on $50,000 personal-recognizance bonds.
