Four juveniles who got stuck in a Kiawah Island marsh in a kayak Wednesday afternoon were rescued safely.
They got stuck on high ground in a marsh behind 1411 Dune Marsh Villas, Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad Assistant Chief Trae Wright said. Units from the rescue squad and St. Johns Fire Department arrived shortly after 4 p.m. Due to the shallow water, the rescue squad’s Air 620 airboat was deployed.
The young people were brought to a nearby dock and reunited with their parents.
