Charleston Southern defensive end Will Hunt and kicker Mark Deboy were honored by the Big South Conference for their roles in the Bucs’ 27-24 win at Appalachian State last week.
Hunt, a redshirt senior, had five tackles, a sack and a forced fumble against App State and was named defensive player of the week. His first-quarter sack set up the Bucs’ first touchdown drive.
Deboy was named special teams player of the week after hitting two field goals against App State. His 32-yarder tied the game at 17-17 with 31 seconds left in the first half, and his 21-yarder gave CSU a 20-17 lead in the third quarter.
