CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern running back Ben Robinson has been named the Big South Conference football freshman of the week for his performance in the Bucs’ 20-12 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday.
Robinson rushed for a career-high 98 yards on 12 carries and scored his first collegiate touchdown to help CSU improve to 4-0 for the second time in program history.
Robinson has teamed with juniors Christian Reyes and Zach Frazier to give the Bucs’ a dynamic trio of running backs. He is third on the team in rushing with 191 yards on 35 carries, and leads CSU with an average of 5.5 yards per carry. Robinson also has three receptions for 20 yards.
The Bucs play Appalachian State on Saturday in Boone, N.C. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
