Local pastors and community leaders will gather Sunday afternoon in downtown Charleston to pray and worship together in a show of Christian unity.
The public is invited to the gathering from 4-6 p.m. in Washington Square Park in Charleston’s historic district, home to some of America’s oldest houses of worship.
Organizers chose to hold the event at Washington Square Park, adjacent to the Four Corners of Law, as an example of the freedom to exercise religion in a public square, according to a release about the event.
Local pastors of various denominations, civic leaders and musicians also been invited to attend.
After gathering in the park, the public is invited to attend 6 p.m. worship services at St. Michael’s Church across the street.
The event is sponsored by Global Leadership Dynamics, St. Michael’s Church, First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, Alpha of South Carolina and Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International.
