A Charleston man is accused of slamming the mother of his two children into a wall facefirst during an argument on Calhoun Street.
Jermaine Antwan Smalls, 25, of Logan Street, is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and violating an order of protection, court records show. His bail was set Thursday at about $3,500.
A 26-year-old woman told police that she walking on Calhoun Street Sunday evening when she encountered Smalls. They argued, and the woman accused Smalls of failing to care for his children, a police report stated.
Smalls is accused of slamming her face into a wall during the dispute, police said. The woman, who was not with her children at the time, needed five stitches to close a wound to her nose. Her forehead also was swollen, police said.
