A strengthening residential real estate market means more investments on the agency front.
The latest is The Cassina Group, which recently opened a spot in downtown Charleston. The office at 69 Morris St., marks the second space for the group founded by Jimmy Dye and Robertson Allen in 2006.
“Much of our business is focused on downtown Charleston real estate sales, so we wanted to establish roots in the community,” said Dye, who is also broker in charge at the new office. “With the purchase of 69 Morris Street, we have committed ourselves to becoming a permanent fixture in the downtown Charleston real estate scene.”
The Mount Pleasant-based firm said it’s has been steadily growing, and it hopes the new office will continue that momentum. Cassina is up to 15 general brokerage agents and four buyer’s agents. Its other office is on Coleman Boulevard.
It’s just the latest snapshot of the resurgence on the brick-and-mortar side of the industry.
There were 721 real estate offices in the tri-county region in early August, up from 690 for the same time in 2012, according to the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors.
By comparison, the Charleston region had 722 real estate offices in 2009.
In terms of local Realtors, the local association had 3,701 members in August, up from 3,530 in the same month a year ago.
