Charleston police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with three separate burglaries on James Island.
Robert Elam, 19, of Day Lily Lane, is charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, police spokesman Charles Francis said. Elam is being held at the Charleston County jail.
All three burglaries were reported on Thursday, according to police.
Two of the incidents occurred on the street where Elam lives, Francis said. A third home was burglarized on Ocean Neighbors Boulevard, he said.
The victims told police that someone entered their homes and stole jewelry, silverware, prescription drugs and silver and gold coins.
All of the stolen items have been recovered, Francis said.
