Josh Duhamel loves Fergie’s lady lumps
LOS ANGELES — Josh Duhamel may diss his pregnant wife in his latest film, but in real life, he loves his lady’s lumps.
At the Los Angeles premiere for “Scenic Route,” the 40-year-old actor said that although the dark and twisted character he portrays in the movie feels that his wife is unattractive, he thinks Fergie has “never been more beautiful.”
“Scenic Route” is centered on two old friends who are stranded in the desert and must survive.
Is the couple ready for their first child?
Duhamel said they “don’t have a bag in the car,” but adds that the hospital is close “if anything happens.”
Singer gives ‘Downton’ an operatic touch
LONDON — “Downton Abbey,” the world’s favorite country-house soap, is getting a dose of opera.
Producers say soprano Kiri Te Kanawa will appear in the upcoming fourth season as real-life diva Nellie Melba.
The New Zealand-born singer says “I couldn’t say yes fast enough” to appearing in a show she loves — and enjoyed her time on set so much she named her new dog Abbey.
In the new series, Melba, a huge star of the early 20th century, joins the aristocratic Grantham clan for a party.
The drama about the family and servants in an English stately home airs in the U.S. on PBS in January.
Sandra Oh leaving ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
LOS ANGELES — ABC says “Grey’s Anatomy” star Sandra Oh is leaving the medical drama after the coming season.
Shonda Rhimes, the show’s creator and executive producer, said she’s grateful for what she called the actress’ “brilliant” work.
Rhimes said “Grey’s Anatomy” will savor Oh’s character of Dr. Cristina Yang in the upcoming 10th season and then give her the exit she deserves.
Oh’s publicist didn’t respond to requests for comment.
ABC said it intends to keep “Grey’s Anatomy” on its schedule for years to come and with as many of the original cast as possible.
Stars Ellen Pompeo as Dr. Meredith Grey and Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd have been with “Grey’s Anatomy” since its 2005 debut.
