BOCA RATON, Fla. -- A South Florida high school teacher faces a criminal charge after allegedly using Facebook to solicit sex from students.
Deputies with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office arrested Stevie Glasspool Thursday. She has been charged with soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer.
The Miami Herald reports that the former social studies teacher who taught at Mavericks Charter High School in Pompano Beach used Facebook to invite students to sleep over at her Boca Raton home. Authorities say she also offered the students marijuana as an incentive.
Police launched an investigation after a 17-year-old student told his parents about the sexually-suggestive messages and they reported it to authorities.
Glasspool has not been accused of having sex with any of the students, but police say there could be more victims.
