The South Carolina Stingrays have renewed their affiliation with the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins.
This is the second straight season the Stingrays will be affiliated with the Bruins. Last season, Boston prospects, Tommy Cross, Tyler Randell, Adam Morrison and Jared Knight all played for the Stingrays.
However, none of the players were on the ice for the Stingrays during the postseason.
“I’m very excited about renewing the affiliation with the Bruins for the upcoming season,” said South Carolina head coach Spencer Carbery. “From working with them last season, it was very evident why they are considered a first class organization in the NHL. I’m looking forward to continuing to build on our already strong relationship.”
Carbery said he had explored getting a second NHL affiliate, but in the end decided to stay exclusively with the Bruins.
“I think you explore all your options, but in the end staying with Boston was the right choice at this time,” Carbery said.
