MISSOULA, Mont. - A beagle that got away from a 30-year-old South Carolina man a few days before he crashed his rental car in western Montana has been located.
KECI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/193E4bh) 30-year-old Shaun Lee of Moncks Corner, S.C., confirmed with Missoula Animal Control that the beagle, named J. Edgar, had been turned in.
Lee said his dog ran away in Missoula early last week, before he crashed on a forest road early on Aug. 1 and spent more than 24 hours trapped in the car with a broken neck and other injuries. News coverage of the accident and the lost dog prompted a viewer to call KECI to say they’d found the beagle.
Lee is recovering at a Missoula hospital so J. Edgar may have to wait a bit before he can see his owner.
