Palmetto Palace, a local charity that helps out-of-towners reserve discounted hotel rooms when they are visiting loved ones in Charleston hospitals, is hosting a spinning marathon on Saturday to raise money for the cause.
The marathon will run from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Marriott, 170 Lockwood Drive.
Teams will compete for a grand prize. Registration is $30 per person.
A pool party and barbecue will immediately follow the spinning marathon.
Palmetto Palace was founded by Executive Director Youlanda Gibbs to help families book local hotel rooms at low rates, instead of sleeping on a waiting room couch. The nonprofit also provides these families a hot meal in the hospital cafeteria.
