North Charleston police are searching for a man who held up an Exxon gas station early this morning.
Officers were dispatched to the gas station at Remount Road and North Rhett Avenue about 2 a.m. concerning an armed robbery, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
The store’s clerk told police that a man entered the gas station with a gun and demanded money. The clerk obeyed the man’s demands and the gunman fled the store, police said.
The clerk described the suspect as being a black man, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build. The man wore a black, long-sleeved shirt, dark jeans, and a black doo-rag or stocking over his head, police said.
Authorities are still searching for a suspect in the case, Pryor said.
Anyone with information about the armed robbery can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
