A Ladson man is accused of breaking into a North Market street bar and stealing about $240 worth of booze, Charleston police said.
Stephen Robert Elliot, 42, of Hawkins Drive in Ladson, is charged with second-degree burglary in connection with the July 23 incident. He was arrested Sunday and is being held at the Charleston County jail, records show.
Police were called to Mad River Bar & Grille, 32 N. Market St., after a worker found a vandalized door and a broken bottle of Cherry Grey Goose Vodka on the steps, an incident report stated. It was later determined that three bottles of Grey Goose and three bottles of Ketel One Vodka had been taken, the report stated.
Officers also discovered that a door to the neighboring Market Street Saloon had been damaged, but no entry was gained to that business, police said.
