Candice Brantley has joined Mount Pleasant-based Moody CPAs & Advisors as office manager and marketing coordinator. She has five years of administrative and accounting support experience. She has a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Banking

Nancy Bergin has joined CresCom Bank as senior vice president and retail manager. She supervises the bank’s 10-branch network in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach markets. She is based out of the West Ashley office. Previously, she was vice president and retail sales leader of the Wachovia General Banking Group.

Construction

Bob Ferguson, project executive for the construction and renovation of the $110 million Gaillard Center in Charleston, has been promoted to account manager at Skanska USA for the Southeast region. He has 40 years of construction industry experience. Previously, he was with Bovis Lend Lease for more than 20 years and was president and CEO of F.N. Thompson. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the construction of the Gaillard Center project.

Consulting

Maggie Rauck has joined the Winkler Group as a campaign consultant. Previously, she was a fund-raising consultant for the Republican National Committee and the Republican Governors Association, and she was a manager for the Bellwether Consulting Group. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University.

Defense

Tim Hoppmann has been named senior business development manager for Copper River Information Technology. He has more than 30 years of public sector sales, marketing and capture management experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the College of Charleston.

Dental

Dr. Robert Carimi has joined Pleasant Family Dentistry. He has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mississippi State University and a dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. He completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis.

Also, Barbara Bouknight has joined the practice as a dental assistant.

Government

Lt. Col. John T. Litz has been named commander of the Army Corps of Engineers’ Charleston District. Previously, he was deputy commanding officer of the 199th Infantry Brigade at Fort Benning, Ga. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University. He replaced Lt. Col. Edward Chamberlayne, who completed his two-year term and has transferred to the Pentagon.

Health care

Dr. Walter Schuyler has joined Pain Specialists of Charleston PA as a pain management physician. He has a medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed an anesthesia residency at Maine Medical College.

Ryan Patterson has joined Mount Pleasant-based Pearce Law Firm as an associate attorney. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from Charleston School of Law.

Colin McCandless has joined Carolina Youth Development Center as public relations and marketing coordinator. He has bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of North Carolina-Asheville and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida. Previously, he was a reporter with The Franklin Press in North Carolina.

Real estate

Michelle Harris has joined Durlach Associates as tenant services coordinator. Previously, she was tenant services coordinator and administrative assistant with Cushman & Wakefield in New York City.

Also, Shauna TerHark has been named property manager and director of sustainability. Previously, she was tenant services coordinator.

Eric Holzer has been promoted to president of Charleston-based Palmetto Moon. He has been with the eight-store chain since its inception in 2002. Most recently, he was chief merchandising officer. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Technology

Carolyn Finch has joined the Charleston Digital Corridor as program manager. Previously, she was practice manager of the intellectual property and business development consulting practice at First Point IP. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a law degree from the University of New Hampshire.
