Free dogs and cats are up for adoption Friday through Sunday at the Charleston Animal Society.
The shelter is filled to capacity and trying to find homes for about 120 dogs and cats ready for new homes, according to an announcement Thursday.
The animals that are ready for adoption are spayed, neutered and microchipped and are up to date on all of their shots.
It normally costs $95 to adopt a pet, but there will be no charge for these animals.
They can be adopted from noon to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the shelter at 2455 Remount Road.
