NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- State Rep. Tracy Edge has paid a fine to settle a driver’s license suspension charge.
Authorities said Tuesday that the Myrtle Beach Republican had paid a $653 fine.
Edge was arrested last year and charged with driving under suspension and was given a warning for driving left of the center lane. Department of Motor Vehicle records show Edge had his license suspended Sept. 13 because he failed to pay an earlier speeding ticket.
Edge said he had taken care of the fine three days before his arrest, paying the ticket and a reinstatement fee, but a computer lag meant the reinstatement was not immediate. The suspension was lifted a month later.
Edge was re-elected in November.
