A search for a missing swimmer off the Isle of Palms was called off after the swimmer woke up from a nap on shore, according to the Coast Guard.
The young man’s friends reported him missing about 7 p.m. Tuesday. After a search with jet skis and on the land did not find him, the Coast Guard joined with a boat and helicopter.
The search was called off after a couple hours when the young man appeared and said he had been sleeping.
