Four home runs, including a 10th-inning Reymond Nunez walk-off blast, gave the Charleston RiverDogs a 5-4 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets in South Atlantic League baseball Sunday before 3,027 fans at Riley Park.

Nunez had two homers, and Greg Bird and Dante Bichette, Jr. each chipped in with one apiece.

The RiverDogs (12-9 second half, 51-38 overall) remain in second place in the Southern Division standings.

Augusta (10-11, 48-42) got off to a quick start with a run in the top of the first inning. After leading off the game with a single to left field, Andrew Cain eventually came around to score on a fielder’s choice groundout by Mitchell Delfino.

Charleston claimed the lead in the bottom of the second as Bichette blasted a two-run, opposite-field homer, his sixth of the season. Two batters later, Nunez nearly had his ninth homer of the season as he smoked a ball to the right-field wall before Augusta right fielder Chuckie Jones made the catch to rob Nunez of the homer.

Still on a strict innings limit, RiverDogs starting pitcher Vicente Campos was relieved after four innings. He allowed one run on two hits and recorded five strikeouts but was not a factor in the decision.

After the GreenJackets regained the lead in the top of the sixth, Greg Bird tied the game in the bottom half of the inning with his 11th home run of the season, a towering solo shot to right. He has now homered in three straight games.

Eventually, Nunez did get homer No. 9 as he ripped a line drive over the left-center field wall and gave Charleston a 4-3 lead after seven innings.

The GreenJackets rallied in the top of the ninth to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Matt Duffy led off the inning with a triple and then scored on a Ben Turner sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the 10th, Nunez came to the plate to lead things off for Charleston and wasted no time in smacking the game-winner.

Ben Paullus (5-2), who blew the save in the ninth, was the eventual winner. In two innings of work, he allowed one run on two hits.
