It was a bad night at Dorchester County nightclubs.

A woman was killed on her birthday when shots were fired at a club in St. George early Sunday morning. Two others were wounded.

A man was also critically wounded at a nightclub in the Ridgeville area.

The woman was killed about 2 a.m. at the Starlight Lounge at 243 Hudson Road, Dorchester County Chief Deputy Sam Richardson said. Two others were also shot at the club, he said. Deputies were working several leads Sunday.

Sierra Denise Truesdale, 23, of Harbor Lake Drive died after she was shot once in the right side, Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said. Sunday was her birthday.

In a separate incident, a man was shot around 4:30 a.m. at a nightclub at Campbell Thickett Road and Wishbone Road in the Ridgeville area, Richardson said. The man was taken to Medical University Hospital in critical condition after Berkeley County deputies reported that they were on I-26 with a shooting victim, he said.
