Three pitchers combined to hold Greenville to just one run as the Charleston RiverDogs won, 3-1, Thursday night in a South Atlantic League game at Riley Park in front of 4,682 fans.

The RiverDogs (10-8 second half, 49-37 overall), moved into second place in the Southern Division standings. The Drive (11-10, 33-57) fell to third place.

RiverDogs starting pitcher Daniel Camarena (2-3) had an impressive night, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four in six innings to earn his second win of the season.

Charleston got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. After doubling down the right field line, Dante Bichette, Jr. scored on an Aaron Gates single to left. The RiverDogs later extended that lead to 2-0 as Jake Cave scored on an Angelo Gumbs single.

Greenville scored its only run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dreily Guerrero hit a ground-rule double and later scored on Jose Vinicio’s line drive single to left field.

The RiverDogs added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh on a Cito Culver two-out triple off the left-field wall that scored Cave.

Ben Paullus pitched a perfect two innings to collect his sixth save of the season.

The first game of a four-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets is Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Riley Park. RHP Cesar Vargas (3-3, 3.11 ERA) will start for Charleston.
