Angelo Gumbs scored from second base on an infield single by Jackson Valera in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the Charleston RiverDogs over the Augusta GreenJackets, 8-7, Friday night in South Atlantic League play at Riley Park in front of 3,857 fans.
The RiverDogs (11-8 second half, 50-37 overall) have now won three straight games and are tied with Lexington for first place in the Southern Division.
The GreenJackets dropped to 11-11, 33-58.
It was the first time this year the RiverDogs won after trailing as they entered the bottom of the ninth.
The RiverDogs were held scoreless until the fourth when Valera tied the game with his first home run of the season.
The series continues Saturday at 6:05 p.m. LHP Evan Rutckyj (7-5, 4.93 ERA) will be on the mound for Charleston.
The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a Bill Murray T-Shirt.
