It looks like a new dining concept is coming to the closed Atlanticville restaurant on Sullivan’s Island.
The Charleston-based owner of Wild Olive, an Italian bistro on Johns Island, is seeking a license to sell beer, wine and liquor in the darkened space at 2063 Middle St.
Atlanticville, a fixture on Sullivan’s since 1990, closed Sept. 30 for what was supposed to be an extended renovation project. It was to reopen this spring but never did.
The company that’s seeking the adult beverage permit is S.I. Wild Olive Restaurant Group LLC. It’s registered to Doug Godley, one of the owners of the Frankie’s Fun Park locations in North Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Raleigh.
Wild Olive opened more than four years ago. Godley had been an investor in the Maybank Highway restaurant before buying out his then-business partner, Fred Neuville of Fat Hen fame, in 2010. Godley could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
East of Eden, a Charleston-based wholesaler and distributor of home accessories, has launched a new retail division that specializes in decorative knobs. Charleston Knob Co. is owned by Sonny and Chetna Dugal.
“Our mission is to replace the commonplace with a little whimsy, elegance and fun,” they said in statement.
Its wares are available online and locally through Foxworth Hardware in Mount Pleasant, Classic Remodeling & Construction on James Island and Bird Decorative Hardware in Charleston. The website is charlestonknobcompany.com.

A new dress shop has opened in downtown Charleston. The Little Black Dress is at 93 Society St., near King Street and next to Stella Nova. It carries a full line for cocktail parties, weddings and other special occasions. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The owners are Alfred L. and Michele M. Turco.
New to the mix
Mixson, a new sustainable residential development that Atlanta-based Jamestown Properties is building in the Park Circle district of North Charleston, has added a new restaurant to the mix.
Básico, a modern take on the traditional taqueria, is now open be between Mixson Market and Mixson Bath & Racquet Club, which opens to members today.
The 4,300-square-foot restaurant is owned and operated by Bryan Lewis, with Leila Schardt and Italo Marino serving as co-executive chefs. It’s open daily with abbreviated Sunday hours. The website is basicombrc.com.
