We gave you an assignment, Lowcountry, and you responded.

More than 70 people submitted their favorite photos of the beach to us.

Congratulations to Barbara Gore of Mount Pleant whose photo of her dog, Hook, on Isle of Palms was our editors’ pick to appear on the cover of our People section Saturday.

When you look through the photo gallery you’ll notice it wasn’t an easy choice. Pick up a copy of Saturday’s paper to read some of the editors’ comments about their favorite photos from this week’s group.

In the meantime, your assignment for next week: the 4th of July!

Here are the rules. Please read them carefully because they have changed slightly:

Send us ONE picture to yourphotos@postandcourier.com by noon TUESDAY. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken.

If you want your photo to be eligible to run in the newspaper it must be at least 1,500 pixels and not have a commercial watermark. Our editors will select which photo will appear each week. We reserve the right to not publish any photo for any reason.
