Police investigators are looking for a woman who stole $1,500 worth of hair weaves last week from a North Charleston beauty shop.
The theft was reported after 5:30 p.m. on June 25 at Star Beauty, 4959 Centre Point Drive.
A clerk told North Charleston police that he had walked to the back of the Tanger Outlets store when a woman went behind the counter.
Clad in a red, white and blue striped dress, the woman then quickly left the store, the clerk said. She got into a small gray car that contained other women who were in the shop earlier, the clerk told police.
The clerk discovered that a box of Brazilian hair weaves was missing from the shelf where it had been on display.
Investigators were using surveillance video to help develop suspects. No one had been arrested, according to the report.
Business owner Seung Kyu Hong said officers were getting a lot of tips and running down leads in trying to identify the women involved in the theft.
“They stole a bunch of them, a whole box,” Hong said. “All the other ladies are looking for their hair.”
