Mr. and Mrs. Wilford C. Corbin Wilford C. Corbin "Smiley" and Mary Bunton Corbin of North Charleston, S.C., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 14, 2013. The Corbins were married on June 14, 1943 at Advent Lutheran Church in North Charleston. The Rev. Dermon A. Sox, Sr. performed the ceremony. "Smiley" served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. Mary worked in the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Upon Smiley' s discharge from the Army he went to work at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and worked until he and Mary retired. They have enjoyed traveling and several foreign countries as well as a number of cruises. They are grateful for the love and friendship of their nieces, nephews and god-children. Smiley and Mary are faithful and active members of Advent Lutheran Church and are grateful for a long happy and loving relationship during their marriage. Happy 70th Wedding Anniversary! 1943 2013
