Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a 21-year-old man accused in a double shooting that happened in Ladson on Monday.
Travis Donald Fender, 21, is wanted on an attempted murder charge, but a search for him has not resulted in an arrest, sheriff’s Lt. Tony Phinney said.
Witnesses recalled hearing a single gunshot ring in Honey Ridge Villas on Oakmont Avenue shortly before 2 p.m., an incident report states. But two people were left clutching their abdomens in pain, deputies said.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found a 23-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man lying on a sidewalk in bloodied T-shirts with from gunshot wounds to their torsos, an incident report states.
Both people told deputies that “Travis” and a second man were responsible for the shooting.
The wounded man and woman came to the apartment that day to pick up some of their belongings, according to the report.
They got into an argument with “Travis” and a shot was fired, deputies said.
Deputies located a single shell casing at the scene, according to the report.
Fender was later identified in photographic lineup created by State Law Enforcement Division agents, according to an arrest affidavit.
An investigator on scene on Monday limited reporters’ access to the crime scene, saying photos or video might compromise the case.
Authorities are still investigating the involvement of the second person named by the wounded people, Phinney said.
Anyone with information on Fender can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
