Authorities found two bodies inside a vehicle they pulled out the water at the Toogoodoo Creek boat landing that may be connected to missing persons case. Two men were reported missing by Charleston Police two days ago, according to Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Brady. Officials believe the Ford Explorer recovered may be connected to that case but officials have not confirmed the identity of the bodies found. It’s unknown if foul play was involved, according to Brady.
“Detectives from Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston Police Department are working with the Charleston County Coroner’s Office to determine identities and circumstances surrounding the deaths,” said Brady in a statement.
Joshua Fenley, 26, and Otis Brown Jr., 22, have not been seen since Saturday. The vehicle was located submerged in Toogoodoo Creek, officials said.
Brown’s mother said it’s not like them to disappear without telling anybody, according to police. Brown and Fenley were staying with relatives on America Street, according to police. They left the house Saturday, saying they were going to a wedding in Ravenel.
They were both seen Saturday at a wedding reception in Rantowles and then at a party at Elijah’s Social Club on Yonges Island, according to police. They have not been seen or heard from since. Relatives say they have not answered cell-phone calls.
Brown was believed to be driving a tan or beige older model Ford Explorer. The car being retrieved from the creek is the same type of vehicle, Brady said. Investigators still have to confirm that it’s the same vehicle, he said.
Anyone with information about them is asked to call Charleston police at 577-7434.
