North Charleston police are investigating after a woman reported being robbed at gunpoint in a home invasion this morning.
Officers were dispatched about 11 a.m. to a Jenkins Avenue home concerning a robbery, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
A woman told police that she was at the home babysitting when she heard a knock toward the rear of the residence. She answered the back door and saw two black men dressed in all black, police said.
The men asked for a person by name, but the woman replied that no one by that name lived at the address, Pryor said.
Then, one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded to be let in, Pryor said.
The men ransacked two rooms in the residence before fleeing the scene, the woman told police.
No injuries were reported, Pryor said.
North Charleston High School and North Charleston Elementary School were placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes while police investigated, Pryor said.
The incident remains under investigation, he said.
