Three people were hospitalized and a dog killed Wednesday morning in a head-on collision in Summerville, S.C. Highway Patrol troopers say.
A 2010 Honda headed south on Parsons Road swerved over the center line and crashed into an oncoming Chevy pickup shortly after 7 a.m., S.C. Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant said.
Paramedics transported the Honda’s driver, Jaymi Gill, 25, of Ridgeville to Trident Medical Center, Wyant said. She was treated and released, according to hospital officials.
Gill was wearing a seat belt when the wreck occurred, she said.
A dog that was unrestrained in the vehicle died at the scene, Wyant said.
The pickup’s driver, Sheila McGett, 43, of Summerville was airlifted to Medical University Hospital, Wyant said. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt, Wyant said. A passenger in that vehicle, Albright Brush, 43 of Summerville, was also taken to MUSC, Wyant said.
McGett and Brush were both in good condition Wednesday afternoon, according to hospital officials.
Troopers cited Gill with driving left of center, Wyant said.
