A man accused of leading deputies on a chase after trying to crash into a patrol car has been apprehended.
Marcus Goins was just taken into custody in Dorchester County near St. George after fleeing from law enforcement again.
Another stolen vehicle was recovered from behind the residence he fled on foot from into a wooded area.
Colleton County Sheriff’s deputies, Dorchester County deputies and SLED were involved in the tracking and subsequent apprehension of Marcus Goins.
Goins was driving a stolen truck on Monday when he was spotted by a deputy, according to officials. After trying to crash into the deputy’s car, he took off and the deputy chased him, officials said.
Goins crashed through two gates near Featherbead Road and abandoned the car on the Mead Westvaco property, according to authorities. Investigators and K-9 units searched for him in the area, but were unable to locate him.
The latest vehicle was stolen off Bennett’s Point Road in Colleton County last Friday night. Also missing are a handgun and shotgun that the owner left in the vehicle that was stolen.
