The South Carolina Aquarium kicks off the summer on Memorial Day weekend with two new 4-D movies, a new Animal Care Exhibit and hands-on animal experiences, all available May 25.
The movies will be “SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: The Great Jelly Rescue” and National Geographic’s “Sea Monsters 4-D.”
At the Animal Care Exhibit, visitors can play veterinarian for a day to the animals that call the aquarium home. Also, they can interact with some of the animals, from touching baby alligators to feeding stingrays to getting eye-to-eye with a barn owl.
Other events include special character appearances by Ollie the otter and Alabaster the albino alligator, four Sea Turtle Hospital tours, special turtle-specific interactive stations set-up throughout the aquarium, and painting with tiny terrapin turtles.
Active and retired military members with a valid ID will be admitted at the discount rate of $5 the entire weekend. Regular admission rates apply for others.
