College of Charleston’s senior male diver Peter Gibbons was named the CCSA Male Diver of the Year, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Gibbons led the Cougars diving to new heights in 2013, becoming the first Cougar diver to ever compete in the NCAA Zones meet at the end of the conference season, placing 32nd overall.
At February’s CCSA championships, he won the CCSA Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet award for the third-straight season as he took both the one- and three-meter dives, setting a new conference record with his score of 320.45 in the one-meter dive. This is Gibbons’ third consecutive diver of the year award.
A native of Fairfax, Va., Gibbons has been named the CCSA Diver of the Week 15 times over the course of his collegiate career.
