Citadel pitcher Austin Pritcher and shortstop Johnathan Stokes swept the Southern Conference weekly baseball awards announced today.
Pritcher, a senior from James Island, was named pitcher of the week after throwing a complete-game shutout in a 6-0 victory over Furman on Friday night. He allowed five hits with no walks and six strikeouts, and for the season is 5-2 with a 2.40 earned-run average. His 19 career victories are the most for active SoCon pitchers.
Stokes, a sophomore from Cheraw, was 9 for 15 with two doubles, a home run, four runs scored and nine runs batted-in as the Bulldogs went 3-1 last week. He’s batting .301 and has 40 RBI for the season.
The Bulldogs (27-18, 14-7 SoCon) are at top-ranked North Carolina on Wednesday.
