Windstream Corp., which offers communication services in South Carolina, said service for most customers was restored around 5 p.m. Monday after “a widespread outage affecting long-distance and toll-free call processing.”
The outage occurred around 11:30 a.m., said company spokesman Scott Morris.
Windstream is based in Little Rock, Ark. It provides advanced network communications, including cloud computing services, to businesses nationwide. The company also sells broadband, phone and digital TV services to consumers primarily in rural areas.
