PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Tuesday that the Trenton Titans hockey team has ceased operations and will not compete in the 2013-14 season.

The Titans have been in the league for the past 14 seasons. The South Carolina Stingrays are members of the ECHL.

As outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, all Trenton players on ECHL contracts, with the exception of those owed as future considerations, are deemed unrestricted free agents, effective immediately.

The 2013-14 regular-season schedule will be released soon, according to the ECHL.
