A 21-year-old man was arrested of drug charges this afternoon after a foot chase with police officers in downtown Charleston.
Julius Manigault, 21, faces counts of manufacture or distribution of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to jail records.
The situation unfolded before 1 p.m. near the Bridgeview Village Apartments at 108 N. Romney St.
Officers caught up with the man near 130 N. Romney St., police records indicate.
Charles Francis, spokesman for the Charleston Police Department, said no other information was immediately available.
Officers later were seen talking with a handcuffed suspect outside their substation at 62 Brigade St.
